All eyes were on London on Sunday night when glamorous television stars descended on the red carpet at the Royal Festival Hall to celebrate a successful year in television for the 2013 Arqiva BAFTA Television Awards.
There was Dermot O’Leary, Graham Norton, Miranda Hart, Mary Berry and Sienna Miller to name a few. But it was Olivia Colman who became the woman of the night as she picked up two trophies, winning Best Supporting Actress for the BBC courtroom drama Accused and Best Female in a Comedy Programme for the Olympics satire Twenty-Twelve. Other winners of the night include Sheridan Smith who picked up the award for Leading Actress for her role in the five part series Mrs. Biggs. Alan Carr won his first ever BAFTA for Entertainment Performance for his series Alan Carr Chatty Man, and the host of the night Graham Norton was awarded for Television Entertainment Programme. The award for best soap went to Eastenders, Made In Chelsea took home the Reality and Constructed Factual Award (what does this even mean?) and The Great British Bake Off received the Features Award.
But we were more excited about the red carpet for all the stars dressed in top designer gowns and wearing dazzling jewellery. So, lets find out who stole the show in the fashion stakes – who wore what by who?
Despite the occasional flash of colour, the annual bash produced a display of glittering gowns and fabulous frocks. Starlets were showcasing The Great Gatsby and monochrome trends, alongside more subdued traditional dresses.

Probably the most popular trend that graced the stars of the evening was monochrome, consisting of a simple black and white palette. Helen McCrory and Emma Samms sported the look with a graphic edge, wearing long printed floral and polka dot dresses. Whereas Louise Redknapp, Claudia Winkleman and Jessie Wallace opted for a more feminine approach with their sheer two-tone delicate lace outfits.

Although black and white continued its reign, Corrie’s Natalie Gumede, Laura Pulver, Michelle Collins and Made in Chelsea star Binky Felstead proved that colour is the new black. They instantly brought a spring/summer vibe to the evening with their long bright flirty dresses featuring shades of lemon yellow, citrus orange and fuchsia pink.

Many stars referenced a vintage feel of The Great Gatsby with long streamlined and tubular silhouettes which featured delicate lace embellishments and scalloped details. We loved Millie’s black gown with a cut-out paneling on the bodice which featured a gold striped detailing – very art deco! It looks very similar to some of our Nomination charms from the Elegance collection.

For me, the leading ladies in the style department were Mary Berry and Sienna Miller. Opting for classic cuts with an edge, they definitely know how to dress for the occasion! Sienna wears a powder blue embroidered dress by Matthew Williamson. However, After going punk at Met Gala 2013, it looks like she forgot to change her shoes, though, I think she pulls them off. Mary Berry’s outfit had a classic Hollywood feel finished with a stunning string of pearls.
